Clean & Comfortable: The clothing you choose is very personal. I can offer you a few tips & tricks. Group portraits look great when there is a "theme". Not anything crazy - just similar colors. Black, Brown, Gray, White - all photograph well. For individuals, it is important to have the clothes reflect the personality or tone of the photograph. Little ones look great in fun colors (no stripes, please) and Adults always look best in more structured clothes. Again, this is your choice - but consider that you will be looking at these photographs for years to come. Avoid trendy items and keep it simple. Location: Your Photo Session can take place at my Studio in Douglas or at a location of your choice. Natural light provides the ideal atmosphere for organic and authentic photographs. We will talk about ideal time and place for your photo shoot when we book the appointment. Inside or outside , we will work together to fine the perfect spot. The most important thing is that everyone is comfortable and relaxed. Before the big Day: With children (and some adults) it is important that they understand what will be happening during the photo shoot. Taking just a few minutes to tell them about me and why we are taking their picture will help a great deal on the Big Day. And please let me know of any special needs or concerns you have regarding your family. My goal is to keep the stress level as low as possible so knowing personalities ahead of time is very helpful. Fun: Props, toys and comfort items always help with little ones and pets. This experience should be interactive and fun so think about your family and what will keep them from getting stir crazy or bored. Be sure to have your wardrobe changes available too. Action: I like to spend a few minutes just talking to everyone involved. This is especially important with children & pets. It may take a few minutes for them to relax and feel comforable. This also gives us a chance to go over the process so everyone knows what they need to do. |
